Process Additives

Our process additives are widely used to either make the production process more efficient or to improve the property profile of the product. Typical applications include, among others, certain plastics manufacturing processes, electroplating, glass production and hot-dip galvanizing. 

Tin(II) chloride is used as a catalyst in the production of polylactic acid (PLA), as a mordant in dyeing so that the color can adhere to the fabric, as a food additive, as a general reducing agent or in organic chemistry. Tin(IV) chloride is used for hot-finishing of container glass, where it settles on the glass surface as a thin layer of tin oxide, which makes the glass resistant. Tin(IV) chloride is used in particular to produce organic tin compounds.
